There is a known compatibility issue in mobo P5Q SE: it does not work fine if 4 ram slots are used.

I have read many threads about this, but don´t know yet how to fix it.
I have 4 Gb (2 x 2Gb DDR2) and need to upgrade to 8gb.
Does anyone here have this mobo working with 8Gb?

Thank you!

Solution
Try raising the NB voltage, it's what feeds the MC (memory controller), also may need the DRAM voltage up appr + 0.06 or a little more, higher than the default - (having the latest BIOS can also help)

Thank you very much for your help

The BIOS is updated, but I have customized the settings as you said:
NB voltage: 1.3 (range 1.0-1.4)
DRAM voltage: 1.9

I will let you know how it goes. By the moment it is right.

I have not answered till today because I am cautious.... but, until today I have not had any other Blue Screen Of Death!
I have played BF4 for many hours and I have not got any BSOD
After 3 years of research I have got my Asus P5Q SE to run with 8 Gb DDR2!

I repeat the fix:
NB voltage: 1.3 (range 1.0-1.4)
DRAM voltage: 1.9

Thank you very much!

Hi - I need to do this but don't go into the BIOS much so very cautious about messing things up.

Is there an idiot guide of what to do?
