Is my PSU the source of my random shutdowns?

So I'm experiencing random shutdowns (about 10 minutes into gameplay) while in Skyrim. It's the only game in which it shutdowns like this. Im also getting a "cpu fan error" upon booting (it slowly picks up RPMs over time, not sure if it ever hits full speed). I've done a bit of research and am beginning to thing my PSU is not getting enough power out to support the rest of my system correctly?

My PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182068&cm_re=rosewill_capstone_550-_-17-182-068-_-Product

My PC also features an (EVGA) GTX 760AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz CPU, ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 mobo, 8 gigs of RAM.

I haven't looked into the temperature too much, although I only have pretty standard fans on the components and around the case atm.

Solution
Check the CPU fan speed and temperatures, Speedfan or HWInfo should do the job.
Also, make sure the CPU fan is plugged into the correct motherboard 4 pin header and fully seated.
The Capstone series is a good one and 550Watts should be enough, even for an overclocked setup so I don't think that is your culprit.

It is a 550W PSU. You may want to find a generic Wattage calculator and see what you get. Sounds link you may be hitting the peak of the PSU. Also check which rails your components are on. If you're taxing one rail too much, you may want to balance the loads a bit.

Rail = each cable line of connectors from PSU

each rail may have different amperage. overtaxing a line can burn out that rail to the PSU or damage the PSU overall.

Thanks for the speedy responses,
Alright, as I was checking stuff I realized the CPU fan must have some kind of structural damage on it somewhere, because it keeps making a loud, odd noise even if I just try to spin it with my finger. I guess I should have picked this up with the loud fan noise when my pc is on, but I guess I was just dumb and ignored it. Looks like I'll have to replace it.

Any suggestions on what CPU fan I should look to buy that would work the best for my system specifically?

Not sure about warranties, if you sourced it locally, you could try the shop you purchased it from, most carry some spares so it'll just be a straight swap.
Depending on case you could drop an aftermarket cooler in, the current favourite is the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo but AFAIK Arctic make the Freezer Pro series that are even simpler to install, if sometimes less effective.
I'd link to Newegg products but for some reason I can't seem to get onto the US site from here in the UK, I just end up back on the 'global, UK' site.
