The hard drive that you have in your computer is a 750g 5400 rpm drive. The SSD will be WAY faster than the HDD. So fast that your computer will boot in seconds. However an SSDs are very expensive. You seem to have an awesome deal on that SSD. I would say go for it. It is worth it. Keep in mind that SSD will not last as long as HDDs and if they fail, they fail without warning.
If you are willing I think that you can purchase a HDD caddy that replaces the optical drive. You can then buy a 128gb boot drive and a 1tb 7200 rpm HDD. then replace your current HDD with the 128gb ssd and put the HDD in the optical drive slot. If you end up needing the optical drive, then it swaps in easily That will still be faster and you can use programs faster and still have a lot of storage capacity

ok well the caddy idea is a nice touch... thats something that i should be doing in the future thanx
but for now the 500ssd is enough storage for my needs...maybe theres another reason other than more storage for adding the caddy if there is please tell..
ok so if it fails the 5 year warranty will cover me though right...
so is the ssd compatible with my laptop??
also so would the ssd compliment my 8Gb and core I7

Windows will boot in literally a few seconds. Programs with long loading times such as photoshop or sony vegas for example take two seconds to load as opposed to 12. Look on YouTube for ssd to hdd comparison videos

sorry I took a while to reply.
Yes all the parts will be compatible.
Actually I found a better deal. You can buy a 480gb SSD for $220. This will be WAY easier to install.
such as this cruical m500

and seagate 600SSD

its ok thanks for replying
So why do u think I should choose this ssds over the samsung evo other than the price... im willing to pay the extra bucks (in reality its not that much lol) if it means more speed and power and also the ssd quality as in life span wha do u think

Don't get me wrong, three of the SSDs are amazing quality and have around the same speed (i have a 128gb evo). Its just that the Samsung 840 evo is 30-40 bucks more expensive at higher storage capacities.
Also the way crucial makes their SSDs is important as they are less susceptible to random failing and will last longer. Unlike HDDs, SSDs fail randomly without warning and also do not last as long. The more stuff you store on an SSD coupled with how often you access the programs will reduce the life of the SSD.
