Hey guys! As of now i have an i5 3330 (3.0 GHz), a Radeon Powercolor 7850 2GB, 8 GB of ram and a 1TB HDD. I am saving up money to upgrade my computer and am not sure what to upgrade first. Should i a) Upgrade to an i7 3770(k or non k) or b) upgrade my gpu to some more powerfull like a r9 280(x), or a 760 or 770? What i'm asking is what would give the biggest performance in gaming? A better cpu or gpu? I am on a limited budget and can only pick one part to upgrade as of now. I imagine the upgraded gpu would give me higher fps in games as apposed to an i7, as my i5 is a pretty good little cpu even if i can't overclock it.
*Side note! I would probably opt for the i7 3770 non k because my crappy Acer mobo can't handle really high overclocks.
All feedback greatly appreciated :)

You do not need to upgrade your cpu at all. Concentrate on the video card first. What power supply do you have? It's important to know when considering a new video card. Also, what motherboard are you using?

Yes those are the 2 cards i'm considering, as i'm neither a Radeon or Nvidia fanboy. I tend to stay neutral. Thats interesting you say that about the cx 600, as it got 4.5 stars on amazon. I have been pleased with it so far except that one cable causes the whole psu to short circuit and crash. Would i need to upgrade to a 700w for the new gpu? I am running 8 140mm fans at the moment and have my gpu oc'd. Seems to be pretty stable. The 280x is power hungry i believe.

OK thanks bud! In your opinion what would you choose between the two? Should i just wait for the 870 and the r10 series to come out at the end of the year?

It really depends on your budget. If I bought a 280x, I would get the Sapphire Dual-X 280x and it runs about $279 right now. The GTX770 is better but it's also about $30-40 more expensive. I would get the GTX770 if I could swing the extra money. nvidia does usually have better driver support too.
