How to split digital optical from one speaker to multiple devices?

I'm trying to figure out a way to split the digital optical from one speaker to multiple devices.

Speaker - ONKYO GX-D90

Devices - PC, Xbox 360

Never used digital optical so I have no idea what to do.

Is this, AT-HDSL2(digital audio selector) the item I need for this to work? This selector has 2 input and 4 output. If anything I was looking for something with 1 output(as I only have 1 speaker) and more than 2 input(so I can connect more than 2 devices). Unless I am completely understanding this wrong.

PC, Xbox 360 ->-(2 input)->- [AT-HDSL2] ->-(1 output)->- Speaker

Is this right?

  1. I believe the item you mention, HDSL, will not work as it's for splitting DSL network cables.
    The XBOX 360 has S/PDIF and TOSLINK outputs I believe so for TOSLINK you can get something like THIS: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042301&p_id=966&seq=1&format=2

    *I think your speakers use TOSLINK.

    Thanks for the response, I couldn't even tell that AT-HDSL2 will not work. I even read reviews and checked the comments people made and I thought it was going to do the job as they were mentioning how they were connecting speakers to the device.

    Still looking for answer to the first post.
  3. And I think what you're saying is you want to be able to play the sound from multiple devices on that speaker.

    This is the closest product I found that is sold in my area: AL-OP192SPL

    Has 1 input and 2 output.

    So, the speaker is input, and PC, Xbox 360 is the 2 output?

    This is the back of the speaker
  5. Look for something like I posted - 4 inputs and one output.
