Hi,
I have 4 computers in my office upstairs in my house which are supplied by 4 x 25m cables connected to my virgin media cable router downstairs. I recently chopped through a cable in the office just 3m from the computer end. It's impossible to replace the cables as they are under floors and sunk in the wall. I have joined with a cable connector for now but I'm loosing 40mb transfer rate compared to the other computers. Is there a form of connector or a hub / switch / joiner of some kind that I can use to regain speed. I thought about using a hub and making the chopped cable the main feed in to the hub and connecting the 4 computers to it but I'm concerned that they will behave differently to when they are all connected direct to the router??
Any help greatly appreciated
