How do I need to/want to get hiberfil.sys back to use the FastBoot on my Asrock M8. Many failed attempts so far.

Running Windows 8.1 x64 in a powerful gaming system... I swapped the hard drive from my Asrock z77 system to my new Asrock M8 barebone (Asrock z87-M8) which maybe doesn't support these hibernation modes? I want to install the fast boot software, but I wanted to make sure everything was back to normal first. Thoughts?

Microsoft's Fix-It: FAIL, says it's not supported with my version

Power Options > Change plan settings (performance mode for me) > change advanced power settings > sleep... NO mention of hibernation in there...

And here is a copy and paste from my elevated command prompt (all failed)

C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

C:\Windows\system32>powercfg.exe /hibernate on
And same error trying variation: powercfg –h on
Hibernation failed with the following error: The request is not supported.

So I won't have any issues leaving it gone? I have never worked in this area before. Nor have I tried installing the "Asrock Fast Boot" software yet, just being cautious.

I just found this: http://www.asrock.com/feature/instantboot/
which says : "* This function is applicable ONLY to single user that does not secure ID and Password to their systems."
Can I still have a password on my system????

I have disabled Hibernation on my PC when I first got it running and she still runs like a Mustang on a 1/4 mile drag track. It's more of a headache than a benefit.

Hibernation has been a pain in the past. Windows 7 cleaned up the process a lot, but I still got a lot of failed attempts at bringing it back. Probably 90% positive return.

Also, can I keep a password on my system and still use Asrock Fast Boot? The manual sorta says otherwise, but that's not cool...

If the manual says otherwise, don't do it.
