hi the good people of toms and good day.

ive just purchased a cooler master seidon 120v and im not 100% sure if ive installed it correctly?
i used the cooler master paste provided and the amd fittings which all went together with ease!
now this is where im confused? as the manual is crap! lol

i went and plugged the 4 pin fan cable into the 4 pin cpu header and plugged the 3 pin pump into the only other header on my mobo (4 pin).
i then went in to the bios and changed the fan settings both to full! as i cant control the speed! no other way? even with speed fan i only see my gpu fan speed? no cpu fan?
the blue led status light comes on and stays on! (i think thats normal)
im not finding it very loud but im sure i can hear a little water treacling about if i stick my head in the case lol so i think it is pumping water?

since installing ive checked my temps with speccy and gigabytes easytune 6 (for my motherboard)
and the temps difference between them both are high!!

pc idle before cooler was added...

speccy 60-70`

easytune6 35`

pc underload

speccy 80`+

easytune6 55`

pc standing idle after installing cooler....

speccy 50`
easytune 6 25`

pc under load

speccy 80`+ and i mean it hit over 100` lol
easytune 41` (i set buzzer to 45` never went off and i havent seen it go over 41`)

i know im not mixing up readings as in both programs they clearly state which temp is what!! cpu,gpu ect, i get the feeling speccy is way wrong? il post my specs below so you know what im working with and i hope ive added everything if not please let me know?

can i just say this is only my 2nd ever build in 5 years so please be gentle with me as im no expert!! lol

green goblin case
amd athlon x4 750k Black Edition
Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-DS2
MSI R7950 (3072MB) 2PMD3GD5 BE
8gb 2x4gb corsiar xms3 1600mhz
cooler master seidon 120v (fan blowing out the back)
Corsair VS650 650W Power Supply
300gb sata hdd (buying a ssd and a tb hdd soon)
2 x 12cm led fans 1 front intake and 1 side intake blowing on card

thanks in advance people :)

Hey dont know the programs but from what I can see on the seidon if the light is on it is operating,
I know alot of monitoring programs have issues on APU's since the onboard monitors sit above the GPU section rather then the CPU
Easy tune would be reading the temp from the socket monitor so will generally be cooler then the chip temperature but should still give you a good idea.
If i may make a suggestion, with water cooling I always recommended plugging the pump into the CPU fan port, this way if the pump fails the mobo might read it as a CPU fan failure and shutdown to protect the CPU
I would think that the BIOS utility would have a fan controller of some kind but may be wrong ill see if I can find any info for that

hi thanks for replying!! il have a look at your link in a moment and have a read up, the easytune program got a fan controller section but it does nothing with mine lol, ive just plugged the pump into a molex so its got a constant supply and added a 12cm fan to ther otherside of the rad and speccy still shows the same temp lol, if i did use the cpu port for the pump wouldnt that mean i wouldnt get no cpu temps?

It should not effect the temp readings the only change would be you would not get a RPM feedback on the CPU fan
Yeah the x4 isn't an APU so you shouldn't be having the problem i mentioned but I am still surprised that you are seeing those kind of readings, you could try some other temperature monitors and see what comes up (I use core temp), just to get an idea if it the same reading from another program

aah right i honestly thought there would be no temp readings lol, i was shocked at the readings especially after installing this cooler! i can see a noticeable change in easytune which was expected but with speccy it really hasnt changed,i tried core temp but all it showed me was the tjmax? no cpu temp
could it be to do with the cpu itself? its new! everywhere i read it says its a 100w cpu but in cpid it says 65w?
what other programs are out there that are trustworthy?

Turn off core unlocker in bios or disable unlock core
