Hello
I'm building my first PC finallyy..and I have a few questions regarding pretty much all aspects of my build as I'm trying to get the best possible combination and get a machine that won't fail on me in the long run
this part is the mobo..im decided on the cpu and cooler..I have spent 2+ months on research and getting to know a few technical terms and products..
Which mobo would be best?
Asus z97 pro (wifi)
Maximus hero vii
I'm not too convinced on MSI and Gigabyte..how are they? Would it be safer to go with Asus instead? The ud and soc force look pretty good
My build:
I5 4670k
Cm hyper Evo 212
A z97mobo..
G.skill ripjaws x 8gb (4x2) @1866
840 pro series 256gb
WD 1tb blue
Raedon r9 270x
Cooler master 690 iii
Seasonic g 550w
Windows 7 home
Oc..not extreme. Not heavy gaming.
Thanks guys

The Hero is probably more than you need. I'd recommend a middle tier mobo per http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/mainstream-gaming-z... eg ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 or Asus Z97-A

You don't need bluetooth.
You just add a wifi card.

How does the extreme 4 compare with the fatal1ty mobos by asrock? And are the benchmark differences really noticeable? Because as long as Iget the needed connections and features I can use the money for better graphics card.. Also durability a hugw factor for me.. The ranger seems a great option too.. Lots of options:/

I'd go the Z97 Hero, picked mine up at release, currently running it w/ a 4770K while we wait for the DC K model release CPUs...the Z87 Hero was the class of Z87s (mine in sig) and the new Z97 Hero is even better, OCs better at lower voltage, can handle even faster DRAM, runs cooler overall, love it so far, think will even more with the refresh CPUs

Most mobos now have great sound.
Tom's recommends the ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/mainstream-gaming-z...
But the Asus Z97 -A is good too.
All you need is optical spdif out - which they all have these days. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

Google their specs and compare yourself.
