New system, freezing and BSOD. RAM voltage?

Apologies if this post is on the wrong thread, it's my first time! I've searched and have found similar posts, but I feel they are lacking the information I need specific to my system.

I've recently built my first system and have installed windows and all the necessary drivers. The system freezes after a short period of time (max 5-10 minutes) every time I turn it on. On occasion I get the "blue screen of death" when I plug an external HDD in.

System:
CPU - Intel i5-4670k
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb 2133Mhz
M/B - MSI Z97 G45 Gaming
PSU - Silverstone strider plus 600W

I have tried updating the BIOS but when running the installer ran into an error saying the program won't work because it's probably the wrong file type (x86 or x64). Excuse the paraphrasing but I now cannot start windows to try again.

I also read that it may be the RAM. I ran the system with only one of the RAM sticks twice (once each) and the problem still occurred.

I then read if the RAM is being fed too much power from the mobo it can freeze. I searched for help and tried to fix this but wasn't familiar with terms such as VCCSA etc. I could not find these terms in the BIOS to directly copy help from other posts.

So I'm asking, is there anyone familiar with the MSI BIOS that could help me fix or check my voltages?

Thanks in advance for any help.

*Edit: double checked the RAM voltages, according to MSI it is sitting at the correct voltage (1.5)

That's what all Blue Screens do...dump memory...its just clearing the data that was temporarily stored on the RAM so it can restart.

What you can do...is go to " C:\Windows\Minidump " (You can copy and paste it) and open the most recent Minidump file and copy and paste its contents into a forum post which should look something like this:

MachineImageType i386
NumberProcessors 1
BugCheckCode 0xc000021a
BugCheckParameter1 0xe1270188
BugCheckParameter2 0x00000001
BugCheckParameter3 0x00000000
BugCheckParameter4 0x00000000

ExceptionCode 0x80000003
ExceptionFlags 0x00000001
ExceptionAddress 0x8014fb84

I've opened the minidump folder numerous times directly after restarting the computer from the blue screen and there is never anything in there. I'm guessing that shouldn't be the case?
