upgrading my budget gaming pc

my current configuration is 4gb ddr3 ram, zotac gtx 650 1gb card, athlon x2 270 processor,gigabyte ga-Lmt s2 am3+ board.
my question is should i go for i3 3220 and a new board or get fx 4300 and 8 gb ram as fx 4300 will fit on current board? i mostly play games on this pc.

I'd go with the FX-4300 for a few reasons.
1. 8GB is the modern standard for RAM and is required for heavier games to run smoothly.
2. Keeping your current board means that you don't need a new Windows license or a fresh install of Windows.
