Just installed new MB ASUS H87 Plus & intel5 4570. Transferred my SSD from old PC with Win7 Home Premium and it wont boot. I guess its trying to boot up with the OS from my old MB. But cant seem to get past `Repair windows` `start windows normally`. What can I try next?
All the hardware seems to be installed correctly as don`t get any `beeps` from the MB to say otherwise.

Dont do a clean install ._. I had a similar issue with my Asus Hero. If I plugged only the ssd, it wouldn't boot and stay stuck in bios, also, I couldnt perform a repair because the ssd was "locked" after I plugged my storage HDD, it managed to boot, must say, you have to keep the win os disc inside at all times so it has a bootable drive till it recognizes the ssd. Check in the bios for Sata config/csm as well. I hope it helps.

Hi. thanks. there was nothing wrong with the old MB...just an upgrade in general...new MB/ processor/ PSU/ etc. AHCI ive no idea what that is. would that have something to do with the SSD not booting? The new MB DOES recognise the SSD. just cant get the old Win7 OS to start up.
