Hi!

I am having problems with some games, where i get lower fps than should, and the gpu and cpu usage is around 40-50% in these games. I was thinking about returning my gpu and ask for a change, but I read some threads about that mobos with 760g chipset can be the issuse. e.g. this thread , but no response there, whether a mobo change solved the problem or not. So is it possible that the mobo is the problem, anybody had this kind of problem?

My specs:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 @4ghz
Mobo: ASUS M5A78L LE (760g)
RAM: 4GB 1600mhz
GPU: sapphire r9 270x dual-x
PSU: FSP raider 550w

Solution
amd launched 990fx for the fx cpu. mobo manufactures updated their 7xx , 8xx mobo series in order to support the fx cpu and amd it is just ok with that. however even if supported doesnt mean can be fully utilized. your mobo has a rather weak 3+1 power phase vrm(voltage regulator unit). if you monitor your cpu behavior under load im pretty comfident you have voltage drops leading crippled performance and thus low gpu utilization. like suggested (on the other thread) you should upgrade to at least an 970 chipset with 8+2 power phase heatsinked vrm to fully utilize that cpu and be able to overclock it!also exceeding 62c on cores cpu throttles. i suggest this

In bf4 i get around 30-40 fps, on some maps max 30, average 25. In ac4 black flag, i get avg 25 fps, on max settings without AA, i play on lowest settings and getting avg 50 fps. I know that AC games have very bad optimization, so i am fine with it, but in ac3 i get 22 fps maximum. (cpu 60% usage, gpu 45% avg)
And the most important for me is that in Counter-strike:GO my fps drops below 100, with 20-30% GPU utilization. (cpu 40-50%).

load temp temperatures:
GPU 78°C
CPU 68°C (with OC, stock clocks later :D)

with stock cpu clocks: 63°C at full load

Are those CPU load temps from in a game or from prime 95? either way they are both WAY too high but if that was from a game at 50% load that would be really bad.

"safe" temps are 60C and below. I believe AMDs published max temp is 67C. There's no way they should be run that high even if you were at 4.5GHz. You probably need a better heatsink or you have yours installed incorrectly.

The GPU temp is also pretty high but if that's at 100% load its not dangerous at least. All though if you don't have air conditioning it could quickly become a problem When ambient temps go up. If you're seeing that in a game at 50% load again big problem.

Thanks for the answers. First of all, i will send my video card back, and hope they will change it to another (if it will be possible i think i will go with the vapor-x version.). Then I will buy a proper motherboard+a better cpu heatsink.
Can you recommend me a good heatsink, with reasonable price?

ensure it fits your tower. you can check the tower compatability list

this one carries one of the best performances out there

Thank you, but I dont know if they will fit into my case, its width is only 180mm (7,08"), its not on the list, but there are some cases with similar size. Should I go for it, or buy a smaller one? I was planning on buying a bigger case, too, because the currently is very small, but the performance issue has the priority now. :D

well tower coolers arent an option i guess try low profiles!
