Help choosing between two GPUs?

I'm finding it very hard to decide between these two GPUs and would like you guys to give educated opinions if you can. *Please no fanboy opinion*

This has been asked many times but the cards have been slightly different.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 3GB
AMD Radeon R9 290x OR Sapphire AMD R9 290 Tri-x

Well the R9 290 trades blows with the GTX 780 at 1080p. They essentially perform similarly. From performance per pounds, the R9 290 is a better deal. The R9 290 can be overclocked to R9 290X perofrmance.
The R9 290/290X is better at 1440p if you are interested.
From my opinion,i find the Sapphire Vapor X R9 290 or R9 290X is the best gpu cooler.
If you play games with physx then GTX 780 is a better option.

I'm going to have one monitor. Preferably at 1080p 60fps. The Sapphire tri-x is £285, 290x is £405 (for some reason the Sapphire is cheaper). The 780 is £385. Budet isn't too much of a problem but if I can still get a really good experience out of the Sapphire compared to the other two then...
