Hey guys! I posted recently about upgrading my HP desktop (pavilion p6-2107c) and what gpu I should get, etc. My pc comes with an amd A6 3620 with a Hibiscus motherboard. I would really like to upgrade my gpu to the evga gtx 750ti superclock, but don't know if my cpu will bottleneck it or if it will be compatible with my motherboard (bios problems, etc). I'm going to call evga also, but I would like to have a second opinion. I have an option to use a pc with a a8 3820 (also a hibiscus motherboard) , but I'd have to transfer all of my data to it. I do NOT want to upgrade any component other than my gpu. Thank you all!

Solution
You should be fine as long as the hp board and bios doesn't have any issues with that series card.

You have a 300w supply so that should be enough because the 750 draws power from the slot.

Hibiscus? I usually go for Earl Grey :) Honestly why buy an apu if you're just gonna add an nvidia graphics card? The CPU part of your APU is pretty weak but if you wamt to upgrade your graphics you have 2 options:

1.Get faster ram if you don't have it. It matters most for APUs
2.Get a dual-graphics card thats compatible with that cpu. 6450-6670 is the correct range i think. So your best bet is to find a radeon HD 6670 and use dual graphics.

Thank you, Blackbird! I'll ask evga about the compatibility regarding the bios (I'm assuming that they'll know)
Emdea, I already own both pc's. Everything is complete, I just need a new gpu. I have 16gb of ram on both. I don't want to upgrade my psu (as blackbird mentioned), so the 750ti is compatible with my 300w psu. It's a completely fine computer for my needs except for graphic performance. Thank you both!

Almost forgot! Is there any way to legitimately check the bios compatibility? I don't completely trust evga support to give me the correct answer. I've looked online for my current bios information, and have found no information. Any help?
