Computer shutting off during games

Hey guys,
Before I start, here is an overview on my build:
CPU: i5 3570k 3.4 Ghz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 660
Mobo: Msi Mpower z77
RAM: 8 GB DDR3
PSU: Seasonic 850W
So for a few months my computer has been shutting off during a few games. Some examples are:
-Team Fortress 2
-Smite
-Skyrim
These games aren't particularily hard to run, and TF2 runs at 100-200 fps on average very smoothly until maybe 20-30 minutes of gameplay, where the game will crash and the computer shuts off. The lights in the computer stay on and occasionally a fan will go to 100%, although it tends to not do that anymore. It is weird because Dark Souls, which should be just as hard to run as the other games does not crash at all, as well as any 2D indie game.
When I first encountered this problem, I assumed it was an overheating problem, because the fans would go 100%, so I replaced the cpu fan and replaced the thermal paste, only to have the same problem without the fans going to 100%.
My temps for CPU stay around 30-40 while idle and 40-50 while playing games and my GPU temps stay around the same, but maybe slightly higher.
I've done a lot of research over this problem, and I get the feeling the problem is either with the PSU or GPU, both of which are expensive to replace. Can any of you help me and pinpoint the problem? I can't find the cause of the problem or the solution, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

The cable connecting the GPU is a bit loose, tried taping it but it didn't work very well.
What's CMOS though?

I'm looking in the computer and can't find the CMOS. The cables seem secure.

Ok, I think my GPU temps have been wrong... while playing Shogun II, they went up to 85 degrees. Is that too hot? My wiring is really bad, so would moving it around and making the airflow better help?

85 degrees is certainly hotter than a lot of people would be comfortable with, but should still be fine. What case and fan setup do you have?
You said you were getting upwards of 100 fps in some games. You should try turning on vsync to keep temps down.
