Hi, I want to get new cpu for my pc, on which I will be gaming(Dayz standalone, Bf4, strategy games), editing (Photoshop, Corel), the usual listening to music, watching movies. Dayz is the priority here.

What are the rest of your specs? Need to know rest of your specs to know what to recommend in terms of something that won't be to expensive for you and something that will be compatible with your motherboard and cause no bottlenecks for the rest of your components.

Thanks i7Baby. The motherboard is good, but is it good enough? Can you get significant increase in performance by getting something around £150+?

You would get more overclockign ability in some cases and some extra features with more expensive motherboards.

I will overclock but not heavy. Since Im here, what is the best graphics card for my needs? Of course I want to stay on the top for as long as I can in either 1440p or 1080p.

The 280x is not as good as the 290. The 290x is better but costs a lot more. I'd only get that if you wanted more than one 1440p monitor.

The 770 isn't as good as the 780. The 780ti is better but costs a lot more. I'd only get that for more than one 1080p monitor.

I could lose a bit on performance with 280x and 770. 290 and 780 is the most suitable. Going for 290x and 780ti is more than enough, but would that last for longer than the middle pair? On the other hand 280x and 770 could save me big chunk for sooner upgrade and if Im right still run games really well.

780 vs 290x prices depends on which version of the card you are getting. But which one is a better one? In benchmarks both of them are really close on plus for 290x with some games and 1440p. Which one is better for Dayz Standalone?
