I'm new to all this tech stuff and just recently built a new pc and wanted to start to learn how to overclock.

My question is : Can you overclock individual components or do you have to overclock your whole system to keep everything up to par with each other. And is it possible to overclock RAM? I believe i read its possible somewere but I'm not sure

Solution
You overclock your graphics card and cpu separately.

The cpu you overclock with the motherboard bios. These days using provided UEFI software.

The graphics card you overclock with software such as Afterburner.

You can also overclock your ram. But its usually just by buying higher rated speed ram and setting to use the XMP profile in bios which does it automatically.
