okay, so i got what i thought was a gaming PC from staples,( http://www.staples.com/iBuyPower-Power-ST500-Desktop-PC/product_932143)but it had a AMD HD 6450 as a graphics card. so, i bought a AMD R9 280 to boost performance. the problem is, while it does run much better than it did before, i get random frame drops in games like tomb raider and assassins creed 1. itll be 60 FPS for about the first minute or two i play, then it drops down to 20 and stays there for 10 mins. i lowered the quality but i still have the same results. im not sure what i have to edit or replace, and i really dont wanna fuck up the Pc, being that i just got it. so, what do i do?]

my specs are:
CPU: AMD FX-4100 @3.6ghz
GPU: AMD R9 280
RAM: 8GB DDR3
HDD: 1 TB SATA lll 7200 RPM
Mother Board: ASRock N68-VS3 FX

Honestly there isn't going to be a lot you can do at this point. Any type of worthwhile upgrade is pretty much going to involve getting a new motherboard, cpu, and psu. At that point you will have effectively bought yourself a brand new Pc. You could toss in an fx8320 or fx6300 though, and that will help out. However, again, you might just be better off selling the stock pc you have, keeping the video card and start from scratch again before you throw too much money into that machine to upgrade it to an acceptable level of gaming performance.

my PSU is a thermal-take TR-2 600 watt, but that's not the original one. the original one was burned out and i used the warranty to get this one.I was planning on upgrading to a AMD FX-9370 and a 990FX sabertooth motherboard. my cpu temp is between 55-and 60 C when playing games
