help buying ram

Solution
Mixing DRAM is never a good idea - no guarantee the sticks will work together, even if the the same exact model - best bet is a single package of DRAM in the amount you want - if that's 8GB, then if mobo supports it, look for a 2x4GB set of DRAM, can always sell off the old, or if the old will play with the new then you could have a bonus of 4GB
