Im not sure if you can upgrade the Mac. I recommend you getting a new one. With the new one, you will get a more updated version, with better features (maybe).

Depends on what you want to upgrade/do with your mac! Anyone who has had experience inside of computers (i.e. removing motherboards, changing processors, etc.) can replace any part of a MacBook pro, it just takes time, patience, a cool temper, and a steady hand. Parts for Macbooks can range all over. A new harddrive could cost as little as $60 for a 500GB HDD, or as high as $560 for a 1TB SSD. RAM is usually around $160-200 for a nice 16GB kit. When it comes to motherboards, things get touchy. A motherboard is usually around $700 with an i7 due to the CPU being soldered to the motherboard. A very expensive price, but someone who is confident in their technical ability with hardware can save quite a bit by upgrading this.

Hope this helps!
