Why does this build use two storage devices

I am going to be making a gaming PC. Someone recommended me to use these 2 storage devices:

Why did he advise me to use these two. Why couldn't I just use one. Or do they do different things?

  1. Hi jkarateking
The crucial is an ssd which will be great for your operating system because it is much faster than A HDD
due to the limited size of the ssd you will require a hdd with a large capacity for storage.
The second one is a HDD which will be good for storage
