I'm going to be playing 1080p Ultra settings games like BF4, DayZ, Payday 2, Watch_Dogs and The Division when it comes out. I want to get at least 50-60 FPS while gaming even when in intense firefights and stuff like that. I don't have a ton of money to spend on something like a Titan Black or 780 Ti but I could probably work with $300-$400. I'm not planning on overclocking and I would prefer an Nvidia GPU.
Thanks in advance :D

GTX 770 if you want to go Nvidia, but the best card in that price range for your needs would be the r9 290.

Yea that is the same card I linked in my post... That is a good one. If you want to go with nvidia that would be the one to get. The r9 290 will give you higher frame rates and has 4gb of ram vs 2 gb... But you would lose out on physx, shadowplay, adaptive vsync and so on... AMD has mantel on BF4 though. the r9 290 is the more powerful card, with a few less features that you might not take advantage with a nvidia card anyway.

Is the R9 290 really worth the extra $100?

I linked an r9 290 that was 329.99... so its only $20 more. I would not pay $100 more for one... maybe $50-75 though.

By the way do you think I could get the performance I was describing in my post out of the 770 SC?

The thing is, put that R9 290 vs a 770 with 4GB Vram.

4gb does not make the 770 a more powerful card than the 2gb version... The 290 will still produce higher frame rates.

I do know that, but for the price is a choice to be made, since people above went for the R9 because of the limitation of 2GB on the GTX 770 Vram.
