Hi everyone. I'm trying to build a machine this Summer with money I've been saving. I have $450.00 to blow on any custom built machine that I can easily upgrade in the future when I have more cash. I need to know if it's possible to build such a machine for that ammount.

It would be used mostly for gaming.

I'm not really looking to overclock just yet but it's certianly a possibility. I'm just looking for a machine that I'll be able to easily upgrade to the max over time.

Total $464. Use the discrete graphics until you can buy a r9 270 or r9 280 and i got you a power supply that can handle a overclock with Crossfire.
Of course you need a case and you should add another hard drive later for the page file.
If you overclock the cpu you will need minimum Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

AMD is advancing The A-series line for gaming and i have read about plans for 8 threads on the cpu side but you will not be disappointed with the current 4 threads that will let you run 28nm parallelism with your powerful gpu's

You will need a little more money to get running and you could go a little cheaper on the motherboard but it will be worth it.

(i did not have my coffee yet and forgot the ram but i updated it haha)

the FM2+ socket isn't going anywhere much for high upgradability. Socket lga1150 with like a pentium would yield higher performance if you max it out.

Why would they not be to upgrade it? The Kaveri is the best thing that AMD has put on the table for desktops in a long time and this is not much of a Intel budget. The fm2+ may not be the LGA 1150 but it is certainly not dieing like the am3+.
It has better single thread performance than the FX has with a lower clock rate giving it some edge in the gaming world and some decent overclocking potential so that is why suggest the mobo i do.
Plus free BF4 and Thief.

put together a Intel build for him if you think you can do better.
