I really don't know which one is better. They both have amazing specs, the Gigabyte has a little bit more MHz power on it (around 40 more) but that's it. My motherboard is Gigabyte, I don't know if that matters. Appreciate all your recommendations :)

Welcome to the Forums!

In my opinion you should go for the lightning, as it has better over clocking capabilities and lower temperatures, although you cant't go wrong with both! :)

P.S. Put your question in the right section so it can get more responses

Hi kontheven2,

unless you are going top overclock to the max, may I suggest dropping down to MSI Twin Frozr Gaming 780 which is cheaper, and the OC version runs boost at 1045Mhz stable. The lightning I feel is for LN and super overclockers ...
I have no experience with gigabyte, but I think as long the cooling is ok, you should be safe..

cheers.

I have the 780 GHz Edition and it's amazing. It's default clocks are faster than the lightning's and its cooler is really good. It's max clock is around 1150 because of gpu boost and has an idle/load temperature of 35/80 with almost silent fans.
