Getting a lot of random artifacts (?) on my 2-3 month old R9 290 these past 2 weeks. I am sometimes getting random system crashes also, like a black screen with audio either still playing or starts looping (requiring hard reset). this happens while gaming and while just on desktop mode. temperatures are normal on gpu 67-75 degrees under stress. Sometimes i can play for whole hours without any problems.

System Setup
i5 3570k not oc'd
16GB ram
Gigabyte Windforce r9 290
Asus p8z77-v lx
730w Hiper PSU

random glitching while watching an episode of futurama which triggered a black screen shortly afterwards. It recovered after 2 minutes.

sounds like the card is a bit unstable... See if you can stabilize it by increasing the voltage a notch or 2. Most oc software should support the voltage control on that card, not sure about CCC... (or lower the clocks slightly if you dont want to touch the voltage)

i would rather not tamper with clock speeds and the sort, as i would not want to end up having to RMA it and then it ends up getting rejected as if it is my fault....
