Goal - Upgrade graphics card. I ran the GPU/CPU plotting program and in most games my GPU is bottlenecking my system so i have decided to upgrade it.

Specs
i3-2100
Gigabyte GA-H67M
G Skill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1600
500W PSU that came with my Rosewill R519
Windows 7 64 bit

Currently have a Radeon 5770 1GB card from 2011 that has always been a bit finicky. Could never get it stable with overclocking.

My questions are as follows
1 Is it worth upgrading this card given the processor?
2 If so what would be recommended for a good boost in performance? Currently thinking the R7 265
3 If i went with the R7 would the 500W be ok or would i need a new PSU? I know the 500W is the recommended PSU for this card and i am hoping i can continue to get by with it.

R7 265 will work with your build and yes it will be worth it.

Your PSU delivers around 30A @+12V rail which is sufficient for running R7 265 without any problem.

Though R9 270 will be a bit better performer than R7 265, but the given the quality of PSU & CPU performance, it will be better to stick with R7 265 to avoid possible power & bottleneck issues.
