i found a cheap used 7990 for 400dollars. Should i buy this? i've heard problems before about crossfire not working good and microstuttering and all that stuff. Have amd fixed this?

My question is, should i buy this card because its pretty cheap now.
thanks

Depends on what you are using it for+not sure if warranty is void.

For $400 yes that an good deal it basically two 7970.
Amd crossfire have gotten better.
If you don't like it you can still sell it for a higher price and buy a 290 for $389.99
Warning not all game support crossfire.

i bought 2 r9 290s and sold one and got a profit of 100dollars, i was thinking of selling the other r9 290 (all referenece) and then my current powercolor r9 280x truboduo oc and from these money buy a 7990. And if im lucky maybe trade it for a gtx titan black or something like that?

anyway, could you elaborate how crossfire has gotten better. I've heard of amd making freesync if that solves the problem but i think the screens that support it might be to expensive for me.

amd Patch should have fix some microstuttering and framedrop but sli still work better and it still best to get a single card.
But for $400 it a good deal for the raw performance of the 7990 and you can sell it for $500-$600.
It mostly depend on the game some game just don't support crossfire or like crossfire.

im gaming ftb (heavily modded minecraft), bf4 and was thinking of getting watch dogs soon. I dont think i will get to sell it for that price, not in my country as it seems nobody want the card. but i might buy it if crossfire works without major problems.

I heard BF4 and Watch dogs have problem with crossfire.
Bf4 might have been patch since launch.
Watch dogs is just horribly optimized even gtx titian couldn't max it out 60 fps.
Newer game might also not support crossfire at launch.

If you can't sell it I won't buy it.
I would use the money to get 290 and overclock it to 290x level.

yeah i say a r9 290 tri x for 60dollars cheaper so i though of going with that. But then i though, hmm i just bough a r9 290 reference for 150dollars cheaper than the tri x, cant i just use it and put an accelero IV on it.

then i though oh wait, the vram/vrm is not being propely cooled and i dont know how to attach it, also the warranty will void. I dont know what to do so any help is appreciated.

I get the r9 290 tri x and overclock to 290x level and mayber even higher then a 290x.
The 290x is only 8% faster the a 290.
The 290 stock won't overclock much and will run hot and load.
