Memory Upgrade Question

I have just installed 12 GB of ram in my Alienware Aurora system.... In system information it says i have 8 GB installed ..... What should I do?

Go into the BIOS and try to attempt to find out if the motherboard recognizes that there are 3 sticks (I'm assuming that's how many you have-4gb each) installed. If it recognizes all sticks, check if all your RAM is running at the same speed (via BIOS).

Thanks for your help! I checked the bios and it as only showing 8 as well....so I went back into my computer and saw that one of the sticks was not seated properly.so I re-seated it and booted her up and Windows is recognizing 12 GB now. Thanks again!
