I was wondering what the best gaming cpu would be for the Asus VG248QE. I don't plan on upgrading to a dual monitor setup so what gaming cpu would you recommend for a single 1ms response time 144hz 1080p monitor.

cpus dont really have alot to do with display resolutions etc...its all the video card in there...could you tell us what video card you have? (to prevent any bottlenecking) and also your budget for the cpu?

I'm not sure about graphics card would a gtx 780 or r9 290x be the better choice for the single 1080p monitor. I heard the r9 290x doesn't start to take the lead till you get into higher resolutions so would the 780 be the better card?
