Re-install windows without losing data

Hey guys I really want to reinstall my windows because it has some problems, but I would like to install a new windows without losing my data, like the games, pictures, songs, settings, everything basically. Is there any way someone could explain it in a really simple and easy way to do, as I am no computer genius. I would be really happy!! please help me

You can re-install Windows on top of your current Windows, but that's not recommend. You could still retain the data in your user profile, but installed programs on previous Windows OS won't work. I would recommend to save/backup all your data to an external storage and do a clean install of Windows.

One way is to back up your data to an external drive using the Windows Easy Transfer tool, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/windows-easy-transfer

You will need to re-install your programs, but things like saved games will be transferred.
