My original CPU is Core2Duo.
I opened my laptop and tried a DualCore cpu. It worked.
But when I returned my Core2Duo, the laptop boots then suddenly turned off. They are of the same socket type which is Socket P.

Why is my original cpu not working?
The tech support said that the original CPU isn't compatible with my unit.
I'm a Java programmer. Is there any workaround so that I can self-diagnose the problem. It will save me some bucks!

Make sure, the heatsink is properly seated. Otherwiese the cpu overheats very fast an the laptop shuts down.

By now, my laptop still not boot completely.
It takes longer now by transferring a small amount of thermal grease from my GPU then as you know will shut down.

Maybe the solution is to buy a new thermal grease,
clean the residue on the GPU and CPU, then apply the grease onto them. I'll do this by weekend.
Thanks again!
