I use two displays. One is connected DVI and the other VGA.

This morning suddenly the VGA monitor became discolored (sort of yellowish).

I checked the cable and connection and tried another VGA cable - no change.

I swapped the connections. In both cases the monitor using the DVI connection stays clear, while the VGA connected monitor remains discolored. Ruled out both the cable and the monitor. I also connected the vga to my laptop and still had the discoloration.

SO I went out and purchased a new VGA card. No change??????

Since I have ruled out the adapter, the cables, and the monitor, what else could this be?

Go to the optometrist :)

Try different resolutions. Change refresh rate. Check the white level/profile on the monitor - if there was a power outage the profile may have changed.

Eyes are fine, refresh rate is grayed out (Windows 8.1) no profile problems. Really odd that whichever monitor uses VGA, no matter which VGA card I install is so yellowish. To my feeble mind it seems I have ruled out the VGA Adapter, the cable, and the monitor. Whats left?

Turned out to be a bad VGA cable. Even though the pins were good on both VGA cables they apparently must have a kink or something. Moving the cable around brought the display back. If I move it around I can go from bad to good. So issue resolved - by luck!
