Specs
evga gtx 770
Asus m5a99fx pro r2.0
amd am3+ 8350
corsair cx750
crucial ballistix tactical tracer 2x4 8gb 1600mhz cl8
windows ultimate 64 bit

The problem
i played vindictus and tera with fraps on and i don't get any more than 25 fps if I'm lucky in the main cities where a lot of people are. The 770 should be getting so much more than

my dvi is in my 770, my resolution is 1920x1080 native and 60hz and all my 8 processors are running and I downloaded a cpu thing and i put it on high and enabled stuff to get better performance but none of it changes anything. All drivers are up to date, 337 something driver from nvidia the one that released on 5/26. Idk how to fix this because the 770 is worthless to me if this is all it can runat.

So fps dropped after the newest driver release? Or it happened even before the new driver?

No, I just bought this and I'm trying to get 350 dollars worth of fps from it but I'm getting like 100 bucks at most right now

It might be a problem, or it might be your FX-8350. MMOs devour AMD CPUs... Have you tried any single players games to compare?

Crysis 3 may dissapoint you as it's mostly optimized more for amd gpus than nVidia. Download Assassin's creed 4 that is more optimized for nVidia cards.

That doesn't matter so much, if he gets the normal framerate for GTX 770s compared to benchmarks of Crysis 3, then we can rule out a hardware failure. A GTX 770 should get around 50 fps in Crysis 3 on ultra, and the FX-8350 can be expected to limit it to about 50 as well, so if he's around that framerate in Crysis 3 then we can probably assume those MMOs are just overwhelming either his internet or his CPU. If he gets much lower, like 30 fps or something, the next thing to check would be if his CPU is overheating and other potential problems.

MMO's almost always = cpu bottleneck. My 2600k(i know its "old" now) @ 4.4 bottlenecks in large battles on games like Guild Wars 2 as well.

It does not help that very few games are optimized for 4 yet alone 8 cores(like you have).

Your FPS should be good out in missions.

Good thing you did not get a Titan hoping for more.

I get 30fps in crysis 3 through out the whole game

Check to ensure you have no frame rate limiter and turn OFF vsync because if the game lacks triple buffering it will lock at 30 as soon as it falls under 60.

How do i check if i have a frame rate limiter?

It would be in the game options. Vsync will be in that location as well.

It is also a good idea to use something like GPU-Z or MSI afterburner to monitor GPU usage. If it is low, chances are the cpu is not feeding it fast enough(common on MMO games. games like Crysis 3 should push the card quite hard.).

My rig:

FX 8320 @ 4.0GHZ
GTX770 4GB SLI
16GB DDR3
750W PSU

Crysis 3 is a brutal game for PC. I Could max out settings on my rig. However, the demand on the system (to render all that eye candy) changes a lot in that game. Just because you have all those options to max out the graphics doesn't mean you have to. Changing some of those options to high or even medium isn't necessarily a bad thing nor will it make the game look any less amazing. What really annoys me is when things bog down. I can get 50 to 150 fps in Crysis 3 maxing graphics out and AA on MSAA 2x or 4x but it pushes both cards to 80-100% while my CPU is pinned at 100%. Its hard on a system to run like that. So I turn vsync on, shadows, shading and textures to high and go from MSAA to FXAA. Bam! Solid 60fp, game looks amazing and the computer isn't trying to cook me alive in the middle of summer.

So I guess what I am trying to say is:
Use Nvidia's tools to optimize the game. They always set things to make the games run at temps and power levels well below the cards capabilities (so you get a solid 60 and the game runs smooth). If you aren't happy with Nvidia's settings then go in game and tweek it from there. I have found this works best instead of maxing things out right off the bat. Good luck to ya.

These games are actually very poorly optimized, I run an Intel 4770k. Granted I am doing it without FRAPS but the issue is in how these games use the CPU not the GPU. Your 770 is fine, and so is the 8350. For Tera there is a solution to this issue involving the UI, but it is unofficial and I will therefore not link it here. It is easy enough to find if you google it. The other primary issue is these games only use 2 cores of these beastly CPU's we have now.

Sorry.. I should have read your post better. Is your card the 2gb or 4gb? I think crysis on max will push the 2gb boundry of vram. That's why I spent the extra 40 bucks for the 4gb card. Im not 100% on that though.

Crysis 3 uses 8 cores, and it also uses the GPU. It doesn't sound like you know what you're talking about.

Yes, I was speaking of the aforementioned games in the thread. Tera and Vindictus.
