hello my dad record some car racing to ext hdd using set top box we want to copy those on to disc using pc mite someone be able offer some advice or info on how to do that

Most set top boxes encrypt video that can only be decrypted with the same set top box. Also, copying to another device (even if it can be made to work) is likely against the terms of service with your service provider.
