So my friend told me that my dvd drive won't work because' Basicly it's how the drivers interface with the mobo, without saga drivers you can't use sata, because the mobo didn't come with drivers on the mobos sata chip you had to install it on the hdd which you couldn't do because it was sata' is this true or not? it was because i wanted to install my dvd drive to install windows but he says its only possible with usb boot

The only time that you would need to install drivers prior to installing windows is if you are using something like the built in raid controller. Just plug everything in and spam f9 f10 f11 and f12, normally it is f12 and then select the dvd drive to boot from.
