Hi, I've been finalising and fine tuning some parts of my computer build, more often now given I sorta kinda clusterfucked a Windows 8.1 Update from 8.0 on my ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe Motherboard.

I am curious as to how decent this build I have is, its mostly intended for gaming (what build isn't nowadays, I mean come on). I live in Australia, and its going to take me ages to save up the money for this given my low income per fortnight... but its just a future goal. I plan to get an SSD in the future, however for now I am going to be using a HDD and then start using an SSD once I can more reasonably afford it.

CPU: Intel i5 4670K @ AUD$275.00 from Scorptec Computers
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 @ AUD$35.00 from Scorptec Computers
Motherboard: ASUS Z97 Sabertooth Mark 2 @ AUD $239 from Scorptec
Graphics Card: ASUS GTX 760 Direct CU II OC Edition 2GB GDDR5 @ AUD$325 from Scorptec
Memory: Corsair Vengence LP 1600MHz 2x4 (8GB) DDR3 RAM @ AUD $119 from scorptec
Power Supply Unit: Corsair AX760 760W Platinum @ AUD $249 from Scorptec
Case: Thermaltake Caser A31 Mid Tower Snow White ATX Case @ AUD $105 from Scorptec
Case Fans: 6 x Cooler Master Sickleflow X 120mm Blue LED Fans @ AUD$10 each from Scorptec, to also replace stock case fans
Optical Drive: 1 x LG Blu-Ray Combo Drive @ AUD$79 from Scorptec
Hard Disk Drive: 1 x WD Black 1TB HDD @ AUD$109 from Scorptec
Operating System: Windows 8.1 Retail (64-bit planned) @ AUD$139 from Scorptec

Base Cost: $1737.00
Shipping: $103 (CAUSE AUSTRALIA)
Total: $1837.00

Also gonna hopefully run it in Full UEFI Mode so I can have that glorious glorious quick boot time.

Well its hard to get to specific when you are building in the future but for right now yes thats a solid gaming build. One thing to note is that in a couple weeks the 4690k is coming out and at the same price as the 4670k its certainly better.

How well is the 4690K going to perform compared to the 4670K?
Also I've been hearing talk about 'Devil's Canyon', what is that? Is that the 5th Generation Intels? (Part of the reason I got the Mark 2 Z97 was because it was $239 compared to $300 for the Z87 Sabertooth and $330 for the Z97 Mark 1 plus because the 5th Gen might be faster than the 4th Gen?).

Admirable
It looks good and that is a great card for future SLI.

For best future proofing you should get a i7 as it has 4 hyper threaded cores giving it 8 threads.

SSD are great technology but you can get full system performance with 2 hard disks if you have Windows on one and the page file on the other.

Devils Canyon is the refresh of the haswell cpus which includes the 4690k. Broadwell is the next generation which will probably come out late this year. The haswell refresh will work on either *87 or *97 chipsets while the Broadwell will only work on *97.

As for performance of the 4690k vs the 4670k at stock the 4690k is only 100mhz faster, but will be a much better overclocker.

I mostly chose the GTX 760 specifically for the Native UEFI Bios Support, because I am using the ASUS GTX 660 Direct CU II OC Edition currently on a P7P55D-E Deluxe. The GTX 660 doesn't naturally have UEFI Bios Support, but can support it if you Flash the vBIOS with an ASUS Utility, however that only works on a UEFI Mobo, which the P7P55D-E Deluxe is not. I kind of want dat Full UEFI for dat swift booting.

How big of a performance difference will the additional 100MHz cause?
And do we have any specs on the Broadwell chips yet?

Is the whole two hard drive with one hosting the page file thing not the same as RAID?

Am I likely to have any stability issues with this build at stock settings?

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but the HX650 was my original plan for a PSU, however neither PCCaseGear or Scorptec stock them any more for some bizarre reason (seriously I had to remove it from my planned build cause I used Scorptec's save a cart system to store my planned build and suddenly one day 'please fix dis k thanks we no longer has dis'). I hear the AX series are like really high quality (apparently due to basically being rebranded Seasonics?).
