I have a Razer Abyssus mouse that's about 6 months old... Recently I cleaned my workstation and did some surface cleaning to my mouse and keyboard as well (with the power off). I just used a wet cloth with a bit of Dettol on it.
When I powered on my computer it wasn't recognizing the mouse at all, even when I re-plug the USB. The blue-lit Razer symbol on top is still lit, but the optical light isn't on and clicking the buttons don't work. Another mouse works fine with that same USB port.
Did I just kill it?
In retrospect I should probably have read the instructions first, but I have cleaned plenty of other optical mice that way and they turned out fine....
Edit: Whoops, just realized that this should probably go in Peripherals. Sorry about that..
