I have a lot of experience with computers and builds.. but for the life of me I can't get my Asus m5a99fx r2.0 Pro to detect my second GPU. I've reinstalled drivers (after removing them of course..) I've tried so many different ways of setting up: Putting both gpus in upon install; using one, then restart and insert second.. etc.

Gpus used: XFX 7850 DD

Used drivers: 14.6 beta+, and Stable 14.4 (Win7x64)

My next guess is to try Win8 once I get a hold of a copy.

Windows 8 is :pt1cable:  .

Your doing a crossfire setup with the XFX 7850's right? Do you have the crossfire bridge on the graphics cards? Which slot did you put the crossfire bridge on the graphics card?

Try removing the crossfire bridge from the cards and and restarting your computer. In the AMD Catalyst Control Panel, make sure that AMD CrossFireX is disabled (Lets just see if it will detect both without it enabled.)

I had a similar problem. All the AMD drivers greater than 13.9 would cause my secondary card to come up as disabled. Make sure to check your BIOS, and confirm that the secondary PCIe slot is set to x4, x8, or x16 (depending on your mobo). In my case it was auto setting at x1 and was rendering it unavailable. This is a very common problem with the drivers that I was finding questions on all over the net, but rarely any fixes. Took me forever to figure that one out even after calling AMD for support. You can also try rolling back to 13.9 as that always worked for me before I determined the fix.
