Hello i have posted a previous question similar to this one but i forgot to mention i am not in america i am in Australia so prices are higher.

But anyway.. i have a quite under powered PC i use for gaming
Specs:
cpu : AMD A4-6300
ram : 12.0GB
motherboard : MSI 2AE0
gpu : 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 (overclocked)
psu : 300w

now i know the psu needs to be upgraded before i do anything so that would be my first upgrade.

but pretty much my budget is $500 Australian

i want to be able to run most games on ultra i know that would be pushing it.

also what is a good case for under $70 as i don't think my case will be able to fit a bigger gpu

Thanks.

Solution
I would really think about upgrading the cpu here too, your current cpu would bottleneck the heck out of a new gpu. I picked a i5-4590 which is a cpu that would last you a long time, and won't bottleneck a new gpu.

I also picked the GT750ti, this card is very power efficient, probably doesn't even use that much power than your current gpu, this card is also pretty fast, and would run 1080p/high settings in most new games.

PCPartPicker part list: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/CkmDkL

CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($225.00 @ CPL Online)
Motherboard: MSI H97M-G43 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($115.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($185.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Case: Fractal Design...

Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($69.00 @ PLE Computers)
Total: $594.00

If the budget is 500 + 70 for a case, then it shouldn't be too expensive compared to budget. :)

EDIT: i did run a power supply calculator just to check, but with the low power consumption on the gpu, then it should be able to run on your 300w psu. ;)

There's a chance that the mobo supports the Athlon X4 760K which is a quad core budget cpu. I couldn't find it on pcpartpicker AUS, so i went to the newegg australian site:
http://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113348&cm_re=760k-_-19-113-348-_-Product

[strike]here's the full list with a new gpu you then have enough cash to buy:
PCPartPicker part list: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/KHHGnQ

Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280X 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($369.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($69.00 @ PLE Computers)
Other: AMD Athlon X4 760K ($96.00)
Total: $534.00

The gpu is around x3 faster than your current one.[/strike]

EDIT: mmmm forget that, you'll need a new psu here, something like the R9 280 (non-x) and a psu + cpu is maybe possible.

Yeah but im going to be sticking with nvidia for GPU amd GPUs are better value but driver issues make it not worth it

Now i've had some time to make a list for you with a psu included:
PCPartPicker part list: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/KwrGnQ

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($309.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($69.00 @ PLE Computers)
Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($119.02 @ Mwave Australia)
Other: AMD Athlon X4 760K ($96.00)
Total: $593.02

GTX760 is the highest you'll get within your budget from Nvidia.

Seasonic is a pretty good psu brand, i actually use this psu myself and can therefore vouch for it, with my power hungry build it doesn't make a sound. Though if the price is too high you could change the psu, though i can't find any of my go-to psu's for builds.

And the Athlon X4 that i've linked in a previous answer here.
