Where as ive only had it for 6 months i find it to be a quite glorifeid piece of crap and am thinking of buying a cheap chromebook. i have found a new acer c720 for 200 and was wondering should i buy it no or wait for new chrome books at the start of 2015 in january.
i will mainly use it for school work and would like to know if it supports pdf file. i still have 6 months of use on my school laptop so i will either buy it now or in january. Will it suit my needs

If you think the Yoga is a glorified piece of crap, then you will find a Chromebook infuriating. Unless your spend your entire time on your PC in the Chrome browser and you think Google is the second coming and Google docs is the best office suite of all time, then buying a Chromebook is a terrible mistake. An iPad is more useful and iPads are for simpletons.

Personally, I would not use a Chromebook because it is extremely limited in my point of view. This is a biased point of view though because when I buy electronics I generally have high expectation of the device being capable of doing the tasks I want it to perform. A Chromebook at it's very essence has a browser based OS and you need a wireless connection to use Google Drive or where ever documents are saved to. Last time I looked only the relatively higher end Chromebooks (which cost just as much or more than some laptops) offered a storage drive. This might have changed since then.

On the other hand, there are people who have used Chromebooks (unlike me) and actually do like using them because they are less expensive than laptops, yet still fulfills their needs.

I recommend that you go to a local electronics store and simply play around with a Chromebook to find out about it's capabilities and deficiencies. You can then decide if a Chromebook is right for you. Alternatively, you could look around for a laptop that you want to use as opposed to the Lenovo Thinkpad Yogurt.
