I am planning to buy r9 270x for high level gaming but for now i dont want to rebuild the whole rig . I have a dual core processor and gigabyte mobo(g31m-es2l ) which has a pci.e express slot and will be buying an 600w psu. Will this rig work? And in future i will be upgrading my processor and mobo.
Thanks in Advance.

You don't have to wait. You can try and reduce the bottleneck by overclocking (if you can), or just turn up the detail in game to push more load onto the GPU

Yes it will work. You won't see the true potential of the 270x until you upgrade the CPU though

According to this link http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3485#sp
your motherboard only has one PCIE x16 so it could only support one of those graphics cards.
Depending on your monitor and other system specs I would worry that even if your motherboard supported dual r9 270x cards that it might bottleneck. If you wanted to use two of them together though you would have to at least upgrade your motherboard and maybe some other components.

It will be pretty bad in CPU intensive games. You can compensate some of this by turning up the effects and details, but it will still be a pretty big bottleneck even with an overclocked E8xxx (you haven't actually told us what CPU you have)

Intel pentium dual core processor 2.7 ghz 775 socket!
What should i do wait till i get a new cpu and buy the gpu or buy the gpu and use it with my dual core for the timebeing?

Any other gpu cheaper than r9 ? So that i can.buy a cpu now it self.I searched for some gpu's but i am now confused my gpu budget is around rs10000($168). Which could at least play mordern games in high settings.
Thanks

What's your budget for a CPU and motherboard? is $168 your total budget?

Your gigabyte motherboard, do you know what revision it is?

I cannot recommend FX anymore. AM3+ is a dead socket with no upgrade path. I would go with this.

Gpu is not available here :( can you check them from here -www.flipkart.com and tell me which one is best.
And why is that ? you cannot recommend fx series? dual core over hexa core?
Thanks

Only if the specific games can make use of more than 2 CPU cores.

For example, Skyrim does not take advantage of more than 2 cores. It will perform the same on a dual core i3 and quad core i5 with CPU cores clocked at the same speed.

The i5 would probably still be a bit faster due to the amount of cache it has vs the i3.
