I'd like to enquire about the possibility and the howto about connecting my old home theatre to my pc, mainly 5.1, I know how to do the stereo. My HT is a philips hts3154/12, and my pc has got a gigabyte 990xa ud3 mobo.
(links: mobo: http://hu.gigabyte.com/products/page/mb/ga-990xa-ud3rev...
HT: http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ct... )
((also, at this link you can see the picture about the back panel of the HT:http://elektronika.teszvesz.hu/dvd_blu_ray_lejatszo_haz... ))

Nope, you can only connect it via 2 channels. All the combination of inputs on the back panel of the 5.1 allows only for 2 Channel Stereo inputs. The HT will be incharge ..... it's going to give you a 5.1 Virtual surround experience nothing more :(

Welcome to Tom's!
Your home theater only has two inputs available, the stereo RCA inputs and the SCART input. Obviously, you will only get stereo through the RCA inputs. The problem is that you want to connect a 5.1 channel source into a stereo only input. I do not think it is possible without performing major surgery on the HTS. Sorry I don't have better news.
