I have a 8GB memory stick that has no files on it but shows that half of the memory stick's memory is full, I tried to format it but was told that I don’t have seficiant rights, how do I change the ownership to adminestrator using Comand Promt on Windows XP?

I have a FAT32 file system if that is of any help, I'm not really smart when it comes to this stuff so sorry for my ignorance and stupid questions.

No - Windows 32 bit?

You might have to download a driver for the usb stick.

So you'd need to know the make and model of the usb stick then google for its driver.
