i5 4670k temps - no overclock.

Hey.

Just built my pc yesterday and I'm a bit concerned about the temperatures.

i5 4670k processor, dark rock pro 3 cooler, fractal design r4 with bottom and 2 front intakes, rear exhaust, front intakes running at 7v. Running prime95 test and here are my temps:

If you're using the standard Intel cooler, then those temperatures look quite normal. Did you correctly apply thermal paste? You should use a pea-sized spot and spread it evenly over the entire surface of the CPU.

That's where the temps should be on the stock cooler.

I'm using the dark rock pro 3. I used a pea sized amount but did not spread it, just let the weight of the cpu do the job. If temps dont improve, I'll reapply it, maybe I just need to give it time to set.

Apologies, I missed that bit. That cooler should be doing a much better job so a reapplication of thermal paste is probably what you need.

Hware you stressing the CPU? I am gettign similar results with Hyper212 cooleer running Prime95 SmallFFT... And from what I found out Prime95 should not be used to test Haswells.

Sorry for the slow reply. I'm using prime95 also (there's 2 versions, latest versions give higher temps - thats what I used). I think these temps are reasonable with prime95. With aida64 or intel xtu I get mid 58-62C tops.
