My Razer naga 2012 suddenly shut off along with all of my other devices plugged in(Keyboard,Headset). So i looked in further to this and when i unplugged my Naga everything was back on. But as soon as i plug it back in, everything was off including the Naga.I have tried the mouse on my brothers computer and the computer couldn't find the device.I cant update the firmware or update it ,because well i cant get it to connect. Any help is welcome, Thank you!

I am wondering if there is a wiring short somewhere causing this to happen. Is any of the mouse cable frayed?

Try installin/uninstalling Razer Synapse. It includes the drivers you need for the mouse (razerzone.com). Else, these mouse have chips and it might have been damaged somehow. There's also a driver cleaner you can use Driver Sweeper (http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweepe...).
This way you plug the mosue without the special driver from razer and attempt to update the firmware.

so the problem is still here. There is one base problem right now...every time i plug the mouse in it turns off everything i have plugged in to my USB ports. This is the only thing i am trying to fix,it wont turn my mouse on even if it turns everything else off. I don't know why it is doing this, there has to be a logical reasoning behind it.

How long have you had the naga?

I can't explain the phenomenon you are experiencing either. You are plugging it into a front or back USB port?

I know this doesn't help you, but I've had 3 nagas in 2 years (lucky I got 2 onsale for $45), most of their mice are essentially built to fail after a year for one reason or another.

well its only been since around christmas. and im plugging it in the the back usb ports,i dont have the front hooked up but i can try those. It really odd how it happens so suddenly,i was playing lucian on LoL in the middle of a game and it happened, just everything off.

hehe lucian is the problem! You need to be Corki! Ahead of the meta :p

LoL aside, does everything run fine with your computer usually ? No random reboots or anything?

Have you tried other USB ports on the computer? maybe try switching spots with the one the keyboard is in.

I usually don't like to mix hardware and peripheral problems together, but could be a slight possibility it's a motherboard problem. I'm still leaning towards the fact that razers are really poor quality in recent years and maybe you just got a "bad one".

Just to save time incase it's needed, Can you list your system hardware? PSU and motherboard also.

Haha but lucian IS the black JESUS:)

And well i tried switching the ports and stuff and that does not work. Yes everything does run fine but... recently(being like a week ago) i had a failing HD. So i removed it because my computer was being derpy due to the fact that it was trying to read data that was not even on the HD. After i did and rebooted my computer was doing just fine. And it has been for a week now up till that happened like yesterday. Yes i had a thjought it might not be the mouse but the computer but the rep of razer mice being so bad i kinda changed my opinion on the problem. I already contacted razer about the issue and the guy said he will send a replacement. But here is the catch, i dont have a proof of purchase, i would have to contact the place of purcahse for a receipt. But i don twant to go through the trouble if i dont have to. So here i am trying to find soulutions.

So if it is the mouse i want to know what the hell happened to it,like what would have caused it and what is actually wrong with it.

Well it's a good sign the computer is fine before this happened, I'm still wondering about your mobo though or if it's a prebuilt. Edit: see you mentioned now

It's usually a song and dance and if you try customer support for razer, they would tell you to call the custom support for your MoBo and then they would do the same... and you'd be caught in the never ending game lol.

One reason I do shopping online is that I can use paypal or my visa and it's recorded for awhile. (kinda scary to be honest )
I bought a Rosetta Stone in 2005 and sometime in 2010 I tried to Download on a new computer and my paypal still had the proof of receipt. I think you only need to be 16 to be able to have a paypal account.

As for the problem, after a bit of searching there seems to be people with problems like yours.

What are the models of your other computer peripherals?

Have you tried updating/rolling back drivers? I know I just got my k95 3 weeks ago and when I plugged it in everything was flashing including my naga and they were inoperable. After the drivers got updated things were fine.

Go to device manager
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/roll-back-dri...
Rollback and updating drivers will be int he same spot.

Model as in is your keyboard a Razer blackwidow or a Logitech g110 or a Corsair k70. Or any other peripherals that have stopped working.

the problem is still there:/i wonder if its the firmware or driver for the mouse, but then again that doesnt explain it cutting everything else off.

Can you explain which you did? It makes it easier for other people who are trying to follow this thread. :)

It seems like its short somewhere, maybe internal wiring, USB ports will cut the power if there is a short circuit which would be why all the other devices turn off. Considering your brothers computer couldn't find the device, that is most likely the problem.

hm...how might that have happened? and well if this is the problem and it seems to be hten i think we should stick to that, the shorting of the wire.

That is very possible and it would explain many other razer naga threads I've seen where the other computer won't recognize it. Thanks for that info :)

But just to be on the safe side, if you'd like to view this topic it might have some answers. Since you didn't answer what other USB devices you have plugged in :p

Probably a dumb question but is there any fix to this problem?

You can contact Razer they will probably issue you an RMA, and replace the mouse.

No, not really in general and it's not so much worth the time to fix a problem like that either
