Should I upgrade anything?

Guys,

I know you get these kinds of questions all the time, but I'm trying to decide what to do. My system is currently:

2500k overclocked to 4.4Ghz
8GB 1600mhz DDR3 RAM
GTX 680 EVGA 2GB (reference)
1080p @ 60hz monitor

I have another GTX 680 on the way (ordered one recently).

Despite the fact that I have another 680 coming, I don't mind spending the money on a 780TI if it's worth it. I'm reading about how these 2GB cards are starting to hit the wall in terms of VRAM. I'm playing Wolfenstein right now and having a lot of fun with it- I can't select the "Ultra" option though, because of the VRAM limitations. I'm hearing a lot about Maxwell delays but nobody is certain when those cards are coming. Would it be pointless to order a 780TI, considering that Maxwell is hopefully coming within the year, and also considering that the 780TI I would purchase has only 1 additional GB of VRAM? If I did purchase the 780TI, I would opt for the EVGA classified version. For an example of what I'd like to play, I'd like to go back and play through Crysis again with a higher framerate- on my first playthrough I averaged roughly 45-50 FPS with some areas managing to hold steady at 60.

An additional wrinkle- whenever the new Asus PG278Q monitor is out (1440p), I will most likely upgrade to that- but I don't mind playing at 1080 on it for a while until some newer cards are out if waiting is the smarter option.

Second thing- is it worth it to move up to one of the new Devil's Canyon processors when they release? The 2500k has served me very well, but I'm wondering if upgrading it would yield any palpable benefits. I love playing games on "Dolphin" emulator, for instance, and in some games, like Resident Evil, I experience some sound breakup/FPS loss when using quality sound emulation.

Thanks for any input you guys have!

Thanks for your response. I started to have my doubts about the VRAM on the 680 once I ordered the additional card, but I agree with you that it's a good card.
