Hey everybody! I have a DELL OPTIPLEX 780 MINI TOWER. Im buying a Q8400 to replace my E8400. I believe i have a 775 socket. However, all of the videos I have seen have this wierd little bracket that you lift up to remove the cpu. Mine is just kind of sitting there. No bracket. Please help me take it out and install new one. Thanks.

Most of the time it just remove the heatsink clean off thermal paste, insert new cpu, put about a small pea size of new thermal paste on the center of the cpu and reinsert heatsink. Make sure the heatsink is completely clean of thermal paste.

Hello man

SO you are saying there is no white "socket" around the CPU? You may have a CPU that is proprietary and soldered to the board.
