I am trying to upgrade a computer with a P5G41T-M LE board to 8GB of ram.

ASUS has the memory specs as 2 x DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR3 1333(O.C.)/1066/800 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory Dual Channel memory architecture.

My first attempt I purchased 2 sticks of 4GB Kingston 1066 but once installed the computer would not post. I returned those and since 1066s is no longer available locally I was sold some 1333 Corsair. Same results.

I have tried resetting CMOS by using the on-board jumper. All my boot settings changed to default and had to be changed back but computer would still not boot.

I tried playing with the various overclocking settings but I know nothing about those and none of the settings I tried helped.

I've tried booting with just one 4GB stick and again it will not post. If I switch back to my original two sticks of Corsair 2x2GB computer works fine.

I've upgraded the BIOS to the newest version.

I still have the 1333s and would prefer to upgrade to 8GB but I can return them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get them to work or failing that how I can upgrade this motherboard to 8GB?

The CPU is a Q8300.

The FSB with the 4GB is 1333 so it is equal to the DRAM I am trying now which is 1333. It would have been higher than the 1066 DRAM I had previous which also did not post.

Everything is set to auto but I tried changing SB to 1.6v as I found a discussion saying that might help but it did not so I changed it back.

I've tried to reset CMOS a few times but nothing

I'm going to try setting the DRAM to 1333 and the memory voltage to 1.5v since those are the specs it supposedly needs. The auto should work but doesn't so maybe just telling it what to do will.

Yes. BIOS is the current version.

I've also tried using some generic Overclock 5% and Overclock 10%. Computer will not post with 2*4GB at either of those settings. It works fine at 5% with 2*2GB and seems unstable at 10% but boots. Will not boot at 15% regardless of what RAM is installed.

Manually setting the ram to 1333 and 1.51v in the BIOS did not work. There was no 1.5v option only 1.49v and 1.51v so I went with the higher choice.
