Hello all,
I am looking to buy a new PSU in the coming days as I currently have a cheap, unreliable 500W PSU.

My current PSU is powering:
CPU: AMD FX-4170 4.2Ghz PSU
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6670
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1333 Mhz
Motherboard: Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3
Storage: Seagate 1TB Hard Drive

I am looking to upgrade (via a gradual process, buying each part every couple of months) my setup to:

CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Pro3
Storage: Seagate 1TB Hard Drive

So I am wondering what PSU would be suitable for both builds. I want the cheapest, most reliable PSU that will power both builds adequately as I don't have a lot of money to spend whatsoever.

I was thinking about the following:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120pg...

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-s...

The above are just a few ideas, as always I am open to any, and all suggestions however I was hoping to get a cheap one. Thanks for reading.

Built by SeaSonic, and cheaper than the ones you listed. Great quality power supply with plenty of power to run your current and future system :)

Hmm, I'm planning on overclocking the AMD FX-8350 so I'm unsure if it will be able to support my system once I have done that. Thanks for the suggestion though!

XFX 550 should be enough but consider the 650W version for any R9 290 gpu upgrades later on.

550w is more than plenty. With an overclocked 8350 and overclocked 270, you're only looking at about 325w at full load. 550w is plenty of power to run any single GPU on the market, even fully overclocked.

Yes, 550W is enough for a R9 270. I would use a 650W for a R9 290 and R9 290X, it is justa suggestion if he plans to get the card.

I think I'm going to go for a 650W PSU just in case I do any further upgrades, I'll also OC the CPU. Also, that PSU you suggested to me is a bronze certified, do you think I'd be better off spending a few £ more to get this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120pg... gold rated PSU?

bronze certified is just the efficiency of converting ac to dc power. The XFX 650 is sufficient enough already.
